Thank you for the link DANNY8 and for the info you supplied AndyCapped. Knowing where to ask questions is half of our problem. the holden dealers over here know less than we do about these cars. We have made contact with another owner in Sydney who picked one up at a wreckers for pretty much pocket change compared to ours. We had the front guard decals reprinted from the one remaining one on the car and i was selling some of the excess on ebay as they weren't cheap to get screen printed.

This is actually the second 50th Anniversary we've owned...the other was about 15 years ago. This car has come to us with more information than the last and what we are trying to establish is a 'complete story' of these cars which is why i'm asking around trying to confirm what we've been told. if you're interested, let me know and i'll happily post what i have found out, what has been confirmed from more than one source, and what i can prove.
Thanks again, Lou

PostSubject: Hey there I seem to be having the same problem...no one really knows the real story about these gold VC's. I have one dash #265. I got a bottle of port with the build number on it i also have a gold medallion as well as original factory rubber on spare.   Sat 20 Aug 2011, 3:36 pm
