No it wasn't caused by to much polish on the brass bits, just old age like its owner !!!. Yes the wags sprung a leak out of the blue a couple of days ago so fortunately still on holidays I ripped out the rad this morning and took it to a local rad repair shop and $99 for the repair + $30 for some genuine GM coolant so all is good. It also allowed me to polish the stainless steel hose clamps and align the bolts to create the correct feng shui in the engine area cheers
