| OK you asked What about a trak skill day @ Mallalla prehaps have a "SHOWDOWN" with HCC since we are all getting along famously (we are CAR CLUBS after all) I can not use my car at bingo or bowling or a darts night for that matter (not being funny or stupid) Its a Commodore car club I joined (what ever happened to "as a club" sitting around the big screen watching Bathurst 1000 knocking back a few sherbs ?) its car/commodore related, V8 Supercars have the first ever street race in Sydney this year I would love to go but dosent look like its going to happen, what better way as a car club to sit and converse about "CARS" hold a V8 S upercar sweepstake on the day = fun fun = win win. And if a 1/4 mile track ever opens in this sleepy ol town a showndown against other clubs = fun and is car related, maybe combine a road trip to Whyalla 1/8 track or Mildura or even Heathcote. Dyno days are car related and this was a good turnout for the club recently (food for thought) Ok ive rattled on long enough and I think youve got my point Might even end up being like the good ol days (dissclosure) No bundy was involved in above statements/ideas Cheers Steve | |

| Agreed on some of ya points there steve , but also the bingo and bowling breaks it up a bit, not everyone likes just car events either, so it's a bit of a catch 22 really, you are never going to please everyone every time !!!! |

I totally agree with you Andy (you will never please everyone and I guess that is my point) just having a quick browse of the 2010 car club calender it breaks down like this......... night cruise's = 7 day cruise's = 5 total = 12 show n shine's = 9 club meeting's = 11 bingo = 3 bowling = 1 quiz night's = 1 paintball = 1 car related = 0 (taking out cruising to a bbq or similar and driving to a show n shine) bingo/bowling/quiz nights and paintball get 6 outings (of which as a club member I will not attend) and car related gets 0 (of which I would attend) sorry buddy but I fail to see any catch 22 there An example of the above statement, the last dyno day @ Willall I attended and payed even without my car as it was still in the workshop and not ready in time, but the event was car related, so I attended Nevermind its probally me being selfish Cheers Steve

| Happy for the comments Steve but just a bit confused????
how is it at all possible to have a cruise without it being car related? How is a show and shine not car related?
we have already started planning a drag day when/if the track ever gets up and running and also looking at an away trip to one that is available.
We are also going to collingrove next year to watch the hillclimbs but just waiting on a confirmed date
Track days at Mallala are too expensive and getting people to show up and pay is very difficult. For example out of the 35 cars that said they would attend dynoday on the day we actually only had 17, all the rest attended through willalls efforts not ours.
Also thinking about a weekend when dirt circuit is on to go watch the boys play in the dirt.
So we are working on lots of different ideas that hopefully fit into car related. I personally would much rather go on a cruise with friends than sit around the box watching other people drive ( except for bathurst which I watch some of )

| my uncle used to be part of the alfa club they had a few track days where other clubs have joined in. food for thought also there is a few 1/8 mile tracks for drags, also road trips interstate for 1/4 mile. gazzanats and the event at murray bridge has driving activities. there you go. plenty of car related stuff.
100% behind steves ideas/ views here.

| night cruise's = 7 day cruise's = 5 total = 12 show n shine's = 9
these ARE car realted in some shape or form.......total of 21 events.......
non car realted= 6
that's a pretty good balance if you ask me lol |

| saw this on the BCCC forums car rally not the get there the fastest but timed and have to get from point a to point b within set time (set up some type of prize for closest time overall ) so if your too fast your penalized and too slow your penalized on rout need to take a photo of certain things predetermined by organizer only information given is start and finnish location but a bunch of questions you have to work out to get to the finish try to make it so you dont need a navigator as not everyone has a partner(points to self lol)
anyway just throwing ideas out there if i think of more ill send them in

| Yeah Jafo that is much like the Cryptic Cruise we have every year. Dont see one in this years Calender yet though. But the are great fun. And I like the time frame bit to fast to slow. Just makes it that bit harder. |
