Hi guys and gals, i have recently got my hands on a vk, only problem is that some stupid so and so has rolled the car on its roof to get the 9 inch diff out. Anyway it has a worked 202 in it which is coming out to go in another vk, just wanting to know if there is anything special that i need to do to the engine prior to putting it in the other vk apart from letting all the oil run back to the bottom end where it should be. Also any advice on building vk's would be greatly appreciated as i am relatively new to all this. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry to much bout it. Just slap it in, check the oil to make sure there's still enuf in it, then fire her up!

How far did it come up and what did it get into. Id be cleaning the carby and just minor things but other than that it should be alright. Really depends on the quality of the oil too.

It shouldn't get into the carby unless it went through the PCV valve. Other then that the only way for it to get in the carby is if the oil went passed the rings, and through an open inlet valve. Maybe pull the plugs out and turn it over for a few seconds first incase the bores did fill up with oil....but oil through the guts of the carby prolly wouldn't do to much. If there is signs of oil in it just spray some carby cleaner down the throat.

Thats what I meant. I didnt say pull the carby apart. Would be a waste of time. Just give it a quick spray clean

GIVE THE PLUGS A CLEAN CHEEK TO MAKE SURE NO OIL HAS MAD IT IN TO YOUR DIZZY CAP THE LONGER YOU CAN LET IT SIT UP RIGHT THE LESS OIL WILL BE ABOVE THE RINGS GIVE IT A GOOD TURN OVER BY HAND JUST SO YOU NO THERE ANIT A COMPRESSION LOCK THERE THEN PUT THE PLUGS BACK IN IT MITE BE WORTH PUTTING SOME SPRAY DOWN THE CARBY WHEN FIRING IT UP AND IF IT DONT FIRE RE DO THE PLUGS

Best spray you can get is "start ya b*stard". Pull your plugs out and spray a bit down each one and in carby.
