What a waste...

Massive shame to see cars neglected like this.


I have a photo somewhere of a genuine vk grpa car that was abandoned on a farm. The farmers kids got bored one day after it had been sitting around for years and drove over it several times with a john deere tractor.

The reason it was abandoned.......it had 2 flat tyres and the farmer couldn't be bothered getting them fixed??????????

THAT IS ABSOLUTELY HEARTBREAKING!!!!!!

Crazy idea, but...

I wish there was something like upullit whereby people could collect and *carefully* store these poor old cars in proper cages and under cover in a climate controlled environment, and auction off the vehicles at a really cheap price for people who want the parts and/or whole vehicle to restore. Hell, the vehicles could even be donated to education facilities for some kind of 'vehicle restoration course'.

In a perfect world...

It is definitely a shame....but in most cases I think the owners just won't part with them, I guess mostly for sentimental reasons, or coz they think it will be worth something oneday, even tho oneday they'll realise it won't be worth anything coz she's to far gone from sitting around.

I know a guy who bought a red VH SS 253 4spd brand new off the show room floor. Ever since I've known him (maybe around 10 years) it's been sitting out the side of his house under the veranda, with crap stored around it, on it, and dust and crud all over it. I always use to keep asking him about it, but he just laughed everytime.

Must admit not in the same category but some of those classics in the Birdwood Motor Museum are a bit that way. Just sitting there year in year out parked in the same spot. I'd love to fire up one of those original GM donated cars and take it for a casual spin.
