| Well the wagz has been on the road 2 months to the day....and for our 2 month anniversary it got sumfin it could of done without....a defect! Awe well, we knew it would happen sooner or later. The local cops have been good with it, but yeah as soon as we went passed the Adelaide coppa's they pulled us over straight away. Hopefully it will pass with the 308 in it, it only has a small cam so hopefully should be good. Otherwise plan B is to slap a 253 together and throw in it.
It got defected for the hole in the bonnet (under the scoop), Holley carby, adjustable fuel reg, surge tank in the back, aftermarket cam and 20" wheels.
Atleast the cops had a good taste in cars, they loved it! :p

| The 308 on the right which just come out of the wagz....and on the left is the 253 which is gonna replace it for now. Just got another injected 5.0L which is gonna be the donor motor for the 253. Gonna see if VN heads with fit on and see how it goes. Shouldn't have any issues with the defect as it will be using the stock EFI cam. | |

| Finished it off last week, here's a short vid of its first start. It started first shot, first blip of the key, was great! When it starts in the video for the first time, that's IS the first time it's been cranked over since I built it. I'm proud of it, didn't run into any drama's really, was great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyBNBOkCRvwTemporary bonnet on. Engine bay mostly done. Pulled the crank out of the 308 2night, taking it to Miltons to get linished or reground, watever they rekon is best for it. Then will clean out the block of all metal shavings, chuck new bearings through it once again and put it back together! | |

| Quality was great. Fitment I couldn't tell ya coz I went carby instead of EFI and never drilled out the holes to fit it. And sold it bout a year ago. | |

| Small update on the motor. Instead of finding another 308 to chuck all me goodies in I decided to put them into the one I killed. Ended up taking the whole motor and all me goodies to Miltons and gonna get it built up pretty good.
Crane F280-2 solid cam, new lifters, new springs, new rings and bearings, ARP mains studs, ARP rod bolts, ARP head studs, A9L rods, forged pistons, roller rockers, VN heads, Torque Power hi rise single plane manifold and a 750 double pumper Holley. He rekons it should be good for about 480hp at the motor. Will be capable of more if I spend some cash on the heads....but will keep the stock VN ones for now.

| with a 308 crank you might struggle to get that HP, and not porting the heads will make if even harder, please get at least a 355 crank.

| Nah gonna stay 308 and hope for the best! Even if I wanted to, it's to late to change my mind anyways. Crank is already reground and pistons are ordered.
It'll either work or it won't lol. The heads will get done eventually, just not right now.
A guy I know is making around 280rwkw out of a 308, so it's definitely possible.

| Went for a spin to Miltons 2day to check up on me motor. It's coming along good. Most bits have rocked up. The heads come up like new! ROSS forged pistons. Lifters and springs. Cam. Nothing done to the intake yet, but he said he'll do sumfin with it which will bring it up looking like new. Crank reground. A9L rods resized with ARP bolts put in. | |

| Danny, where'd you get your bonnet scoop from? Might be facing the dilemma of a 308 high-rise manifold on my motor which means i'll be needing a scoop seeing as it'd push my air filter up and out.. lol | |

| We bought a VK which had a full group A kit on it. Ended up selling the whole thing minus the bonnet coz yeah we used the scoop off it.
Check out ebay, that's prolly ya best bet I'd say unless someone has one they're getting rid of second hand.

| Thx mate. Still got a fair few things to buy for it, but it all takes time. The thing that pisses me off the most is we still gotta get the wagz thru regency b4 we even start putting any of the new gear in it. But hopefully should have it back on the road and rego'd within 6 months. Last year we aimed for September as that's when our town has it's local show, we made it that time, so hopefully we can make it again. It's always a nice day to go cruising! | |

| Cheers mate. Hopefully crack 250rwkw. Then the next step would be head work and a bigger cam I guess as I'm only using stock VN heads. | |
