Hey guys,

I need a particular car amplifier, and I'm struggling to find it at a decent price...Know where I could get one for a decent price without too many hassles...A club sponsor perhaps?

Yeah been looking at Response...Either way, I need an amp that is purely for performance and not talk...I need something competitive and serious because i'm going for the 140Db mark...

You could try a powervox amp. they're cheap and nasty, cost around 100 bux. But they farkin crank! I got one off a mate second hand for 100 bux (didn't wanna wait for a new one to arrive lol) and it killed our subs pretty quick. Had a JL 12 hooked up to a single kenwood crappy amp, it wasn't to bad, amp wasn't really big enuf, so thought I'd try the powervox my mate had. Hooked up the single sub off it and it was bloody sweet!! I remember pulling up to the servo I work at and a lady inside blocking her ears. It was crazy!! The amp obviously fed it waaay to much juice. Ended up killing the sub while me bro was building a box for both to go into. We ended up running the 2nd JL 12 with another randon 12", but they didn't last long either.

Ended up floggin off the amp coz I was sick of buying more subs. And we've now got 2 Pioneer 12's and a Pioneer amp. Haven't used it in a year or 2 tho, but me little bro just bought a van so might have to dig them out for that maybe.

To this day I've never been in a car which has sounded better then my old van with the JL 12" (rated at 125rwms). It really rattled ya insides, nearly enuf to spew!! hehe

Here's a few snaps...the powervox wasn't hooked up at the time the pic was taken. The black thing hanging in the middle from the roof (bit hard to see) was the motor for the disco ball! Was wicked gettin driven around with the tunes cranked, disco ball goin, and the multu-colour strobe behind the front seats was aimed at the ball so and assortment of colours were flying around everywhere....would of been the perfect bus for a stoner!! lol

I scored one of those particular powervox amps new for $55 off an ebay store a couple of years ago. Highly doubt their power claims, but s#!t it made some noise!

I used it to run a single JBL GTO1202D (same as this- here ) in a cheap ported box and it was damn loud! Didn't turn it right up very often, but with the right music I couldn't see a thing in the mirrors cause they were shaking so much... Very Happy

Can't show it to you- some of the local oxygen-thieves around here decided they needed it more than me. Amplifier... Fork

Yeah aye! lol 5000w apparently. I remember a guy on ebay selling them, but he'd opened them up and done a few mods to them to make them more reliable. I rekon he also said he tested them and it produced about 230wrms per channel or sumfin. But yeah, altho cheap and nasty, they crank!!
