| Thanks mate. I can't believe we've actually finished something. Altho it's never finished, and even at the moment there's lots of small things to do, but to just get it to where it's registered (registered as a V8 too, she's legal) and we're now cruising in it means alot to us. After 2days drive we've clocked up roughly around 400k's in total. Took it for a spin to Port Broughton and Fishermans Bay. It's now time for it's first service. Then again at around 1000k's and she'll be ready to hit the dyno! The speedo isn't accurate and the needle jumps so we never know wat speed we're on, but using a gear calculator I've found out on average we've been sittin on 80-90k's on the highway. That's at 3000rpm in 3rd (Trimatic). Every so often Brad opened her up till about 5000rpm (then slowed down to 3000rpm again) which we thought would of been around 100-110, but turns out it's closer to 150-160....whoops! It friken flies on the highway when the foot goes down, only taken it to 5000rpm, and yeah it only took about 3-4 seconds to go from 80-90 to 150-160. Haven't flogged it down low yet tho so dunno wat she'll do. Some pics I took when we stopped at Fisherman's Bay 2day. Will go for another cruise on Sunday if we got any cash left. This isn't my pay week so I'm just about broke already lol. | |

| Also hopefully we'll have the 20's under the rear soon too. Hate the 16's on there, looks like crap. The 20's for the rear aren't holding air for long, not sure if it's the rims or the tyres. Worst case scenario I'll hunt down some tubes...apparently ya can get them in 20's lol.
Also gotta sort out the bonnet. It still needs clear over it as it's just painted with no clear. So gotta finish that soon too. Also might do the cowl panel again as it has some chips from where we weren't careful, plus need to do the grill as it's not the right white (the old grill is broken, and by luck found a replacement in white which is close lol), and also the fuel door still needs clear.

| Thx guys. The wagz will never be finished haha....just like any project car! Gonna bring it out for another spin 2day, cruise to some small towns around the area. Brad (me little bro/driver) gave it an oil change last night and took it for a spin afterwards (I was at work). He told me he gave it some stick off the line to see how it went down low, and he said he ran into a problem...apparently he mashed the pedal, and it put him back into to the seat so much that he had to back off coz he couldn't reach the gear shifter lol. He also rekons the new trans is wicked. When he shifts, it changes as soon as the shifter changes (and it revs that quick that it's hard to keep up with the changes)....we've never had a box that good lol. Can't wait to get it on the dyno and see wat she pulls. I'm hoping anything over 160rwkw. I'm only goin by wat he's said tho.....I still don't get me licence back for another 3 years so I just get to back it out of the yard haha. Sucks lol. | |

| Done a bit more work to the wagz 2day. Bolted in the oil catch can, charcoal canister (under the gaurd), repainted the dash, still tryin to work out a better colour scheme for the interior. Need something which goes with black. We're thinkin a real dark blue to match the VQ seats....not 100% sure yet tho. A pic from yesterday. That was at Gladstone just b4 we had to pull the 20's off the rear coz one of the tyres had a massive egg in the side. | |

| Latest pic of the engine bay.....bout 2 weeks old now tho. Few bugs through it too, took the photo after a cruise to Port Augusta. Cop rims all round now....will keep the 20's in the shed for a while....need to grab a few new tyres for them too. And the dyno readout from this morning. Was aiming for 160rwkw, but thought it would of only pulled around 140-150ish. He gave it a run and said he had some good news and some bad news. The bad news is the carby and fuel system isn't up for the job. The good news is the motor is strong, pulled 140rwkw but he had to stop coz it was running way to lean, but it wants to keep going. I'm running a 750 vac sec, and it needed ALOT more juice. And as ya can't adjust the secondaries, he went 6 jet sizes up in the primaries. After adjusting that, resetting the float levels, playing with the fuel mixtures and adjusting the timing.....it pulled 174rwkw. But it's still leaning out a fair bit up in the revs. So need to buy a 750 double pumper, and also need a better fuel pump. Already changed the fuel pump over. The old one barely got to 5psi, this new one sits on 12psi, but the fuel reg seems to be dodgy and doesn't wanna regulate it down so gotta sort that out now. He rekons with a better fuel pump and the 750dp he should be able to get it close to 200rwkw. I'm bloody stoked with the 174rwkw, but definitely gonna try and push for 200. | |

| It's not a wild motor, which is why I thought I'd really be pushin for 160rwkw. I think stock injected 5.0L's normally pull around the 120rwkw mark, and coz I'm using VN heads but with a carby I knew I'd make a bit more then that. Here's the specs anyway.
Black 308 std bore - rebuilt with ACL bearings, ACL gaskets, Sealed Power cast rings. Didn't get it bored out, just had the bores honed so I could re-ring the stock pistons. JP billet double row timing chain set Crane Blue Racer 976812 hydraulic cam Crane anti-pump lifters VN heads LT1 valve springs Procomp manifold 750 Holley
That's roughly about it.

| Thx guys. Hey Pazz I got the radiator off of ebay for $300 with $50 postage. Didn't want an old crusty one in there, and a new radiator was around $400-$500.....so it was stupid not to go the alloy one lol. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270629490811They're imported ones, but so far I haven't had any trouble with it and it's been great. Temp normally sits around 1/4-1/3 on the gauge, it's only ever been up higher once which was our own fault. I was a bit worried about buying a cheapy, but done some reading up and read of a few bad stories people had with PWR and Aussie Desert Coolers.....so thought I'd rather spend $350 on a rad if it buggers up rather then $1000 lol. Where bouts did ya get ur swivel thermostat housing too? | |

| Here's the wagz pretty much with a full load....Brad drivin, me in the passenger seat and Wazza in the back....all fatties. Poor ol' girl! Haha. Really need to get the gaurds rolled. Bought a set of super lows for the front too, so they should lift it up a bit! My toyz! | |

| Got some pics taken of the wagz.....this is the only shot I've got of it so far, the rest are gonna take a week or 2. Should of put some bags of concrete in the back I rekon....we took the toolbox, spare wheel and 20L bottle of water out and didn't realise that the back then sat even, if not maybe a bit higher then the front lol. | |

| That looks great nice pick. I also love the way the arse end dont look like its draging along the ground anymore. Man I dont like that look makes me think of the people that have mags on the front and stockies on the back.
Cant wait to see the reast of the pictures |

| Thx mate. Shane and Rikki from Ignition Images come to Pirie for a few days and shot some cars. They done an awesome job!
Yeah now we either have all four 20's on there, or all four cop rims. Stockies on the back looks crap. It was like that for a while, and the amount of kids that yell out "do a burnout" is just annoying....and we don't want that sort of attention. If we take it for a spin it's to enjoy a nice drive in a nice tuff car, not to rip skids...stockies on the back makes it feel like a bomb.
Haven't finished with the ride height either. The front's getting lifted a fraction, and the back is more then likely gonna get dropped a bit lol (depends how high the new front springs make it sit). When it's empty it sits to high in the back, but when it's loaded it's to low, so hopefully I can find some better springs for the back. The Kings are just to soft.

Top pics. This guy lives a couple of blocks down the street from me so I reckon before the misses spends all of our money on dog food I'll book the wagon in over the next few weeks.
